My Destiny
Adrianne Byrd
BET books-Contemporary Romance

January 2003
Rating: 4+

From the first meeting of Destiny Brockman and Miles Stafford you take a journey from their dislike, to their developing friendship, to an intense attraction neither can deny.

On moving day Destiny literally crashes into handsome and charming Miles. The attraction is immediate. But even in her attraction Destiny is repulsed by Miles behavior as a player. On the other hand, Miles views Destiny as a beautiful yet uptight woman.

At her best friends insistence Destiny decides to make a change, a change that lands her in the company of none other than Miles. She spends several hours with him enjoying being around him instead of how they've acted like enemies. A truce to put aside their differences reveals that there's more to the other than what meets the eye. They become good friends while adamantly refusing to acknowledge their attraction.

When they decide to develop a relationship unforseen circumstances forces their hand. The incident brings their feelings to the surface allowing them to share in love everlasting.

My Destiny is a page-turner that keeps you guessing What's gonna happen next? I laughed at the funny scenes incorporated into the book giving you a glimpse at the characters sense of humor. My Destiny was a mix of intense passion, a dash of humor, romance and fantasy, close family and friends as well as the experience of true love. Ms. Bryd has done us proud with another excellent book. My Destiny is a must read for 2003.
