FATE
By Pamela Leigh Starr
Love Spectrum - Genesis Press

Rating: 4 Stars

Pamela Leigh Starr uses the basic elements of romance to draw you into her novel FATE. Circumstances beyond Vanessa Lewis and Scott Halloway's control keeps them in each other's paths.
Vanessa is an African-American single teacher who loves kids. She spends a lot of time with her niece and nephews. She literally bumps into Scott during a visit to the grocery store. After that first encounter, their paths seem to cross in various unsuspecting places. She initially ignores the attraction.
Scott is a Caucasian widow and single parent. Between working and taking care of his little girls, he doesn't see romance in his near future. He can thank his meddling sister, who tries to set him up on dates, for his chance encounter with Vanessa.
Scott finally convinces Vanessa that fate has brought them together and that they shouldn't let anything stop them from pursuing their obvious attraction to one another.
Vanessa doubts creep in when certain people comment on their differences. Although she cares for Scott, will Vanessa be able to look past what others may think and pursue a life with the man of her dreams? Can Scott convince Vanessa, that their relationship is more important than his job?
Ms. Starr shows that with love there are no boundaries. Scott and Vanessa's happiness lies within themselves and not the outside world. Once they are able to let FATE intervene they will be able to enjoy their newfound love and life together.
