MEET THE
AUTHOR

KIMBERLA LAWSON ROBY

Shades Of Romance Magazine:  Please give the readers a brief bio on you the person and the writer.

Kimberla Lawson Roby:  I've written five novels, BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, HERE AND NOW, CASTING THE FIRST STONE, IT'S A THIN LINE, and A TASTE OF REALITY.

SORM:  Tell us about your current book?

ROBY:  A TASTE OF REALITY centers on racial discrimination in the workplace
with subplots dealing with gender discrimination, friendship betrayal, and marital
infidelity.

SORM:  Which scene in the book is your favorite?

ROBY:
Unfortunately, my favorite scene is one that would give away the story, so I
think I'll have to pass on this particular question.  Sorry.  :-)

SORM:  What would you like your readers to take away from your book?

ROBY:  I would like them to walk away knowing that discrimination in the workplace
of any kind does not have to be tolerated.

SORM:  If your book could be made into a movie, whom would you choose to play the lead characters?

ROBY:  I would choose Robin Givens to play Anise and Boris Kodjoe to play her
husband, David.

SORM:  What was the best writing advice you received?

ROBY:  To utilize the first two chapters as a means to develop my main characters.

SORM:  What are your goals as a writer?

ROBY:  Actually, I have a list, but my priority is to continue writing one novel each year and to possibly write something non-fiction.

SORM:  What advice would you give someone whose book is about to be published?

ROBY:
I would insist that they learn as much about the business side of publishing as they can.  Doing so has helped me tremendously.

SORM:  What is the latest pager-turner you've read?

ROBY: P.G. COUNTY by Connie Briscoe

SORM:  Do you have any advice for those aspiring writers?

ROBY:  Write as often as you can, preferably on a daily basis, and write what you truly feel within your heart.

SORM:  How can readers get in contact with you? (mail, email, website)

ROBY: By regular mail:  P.O. Box 1264, Belvidere, IL  61008-1237
By E-mail:  kimlawsonroby@aol.com
By Web Site: www.kimroby.com

SORM:  Can you give us a sneak peek at your next book?

ROBY:  There have been loads of reader requests, so I am finally working on CASTING THE FIRST STONE, PART II!

SHADES OF ROMANCE MAGAZINE WOULD LIKE TO THANK MS. ROBY FOR THIS INTERVIEW.  WE WISH YOU MUCH SUCCESS.
