Maurice M. Gray, Jr. is the owner/operator of Write The Vision, Inc. He is the author of one novel, To Whom Much Is Given, the co-author of one non-fiction book, I Really Didn't Mean To Get HIV by Livingston N. Lee, Jr. and a contributor to the Essence best-selling short story anthology Blessed Assurance (short story entitled Traveling Mercies). Maurice has previously taught writing workshops at the Write Now! 3 Conference in Baltimore, MD and at the Expo For Today's Black Woman in Chicago, IL.
Shelia M. Goss is the Dallas Best Selling Author of Roses are Thorns, Violets are True and an e-book, Love UnExpected. Her novels have received rave reviews from readers and have earned her best selling status at several bookstores across the country. Her third novel, My Invisible Husband will be released by 4AllSeasons Publishing in the Fall of 2004. She is part of several online writing groups and a member of Writer's Impact, a Dallas Writer's Group.

Week I: You Too Can Be Published.
When it's time to self-publish and how to get started.
The pros and cons of self-publishing, including print on demand.

Week II: Are You Ready For This? Essential steps you must take in order to make your first book a complete success. As anxious as you must be to get this done, you can't rush the writing process or the self-publishing process.

Week III: Sweating The Small Stuff: The Seemingly Minor Details That Can Make Or Break You.
We will discuss the absolute importance of making sure that your book doesn't look self-published. Topics include cover art, editing, getting your ISBN and bar code and other related items.
Handling the Business side of publishing - registering publishing company, etc.
The Printing Process - tips on how to find an affordable printer, graphic artist, etc.
Timelines, A spreadsheet to use as a check list through the publishing process
Week IV: Marketing & Distribution.
Once you have your books, you want to sell them or else have a basement full of books sitting around doing nothing for you. We will discuss distributors, consignment with bookstores and other ways to move your books once you've got them.
Promoting the finished product - what to do next…includes suggestions on distribution lists, newsletters, websites, etc.
There will also be a review of the previous weeks and as much Q & A as we have time for.
