Shelia M. Goss:

Resides in the Dallas metro-plex, working as a Private Contractor in the areas of Project Management and Technical Writing. She is a member of the Black Writer's Alliance and also one of the managing editors of a new urban web site: She has been writing creatively since age 9. Her poems and short stories have been featured on several e-zines, and she has recently completed her first novel. Her aunt introduced her to the world of romance novels when she was in high school, and she has been an avid reader in the genre ever since.

LaShaunda C. Hoffman:

A 35 yr old aspiring romance writer. I'm the mother of Nichaela Hoffman and Clyde Jr. and wife of Clyde Hoffman. I'm an avid romance reader who fell in love with romance at a very young age when I use to sneak my mother's books and read them before she did.

In April 1999, I started a forum called Aspiring African-American Romance Writers, we held our first online conference in October 99 which was a huge success.

In the real world, I work for Food And Drug Administration as an Consumer Safety Technician. I've been working there for 10yrs, before then I was in the United States Navy.

My goals are to introduce others to the wonderful world of Multi-cultural romance and to one day become a published writer.

Lauren D. Jones:

Is a corporate and entertainment attorney from Baltimore, Maryland. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park where she obtained a double major in Government & Politics and African-American Studies with a minor in pre-law.
Lauren is very active in her community and dedicates a great deal of her time working with the youth and young adults in her area. She is committed to helping them achieve their goals in life. Lauren is the Youth Director at her church, the Corresponding Secretary for the Omicron Gamma Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

She is very active member of the Ebony Eyes Book Club. Although she reads African-American authored books of all genres, she remains an avid "romance" fanatic! For Lauren, reading is a passion that will never be quenched. She believes that "knowledge is power" and reading is a key to achieving power.

Ty Moody:

During her free time Ty Moody, loves to read, draw and write. Reading began at an early when her mother introduced her to the "I Can Read" Book Club for children. Each month she would devour the books that she received in the mail. Ty enjoys reading anything from books to comic strips to magazines. She especially enjoys African American inspirational literature with some of her favorite authors being Angela Benson, Victoria Christopher Murray and Sharon Ewell Foster.

Renee Motley:

I am a single parent in my mid-40's and enjoying every moment of it. A mother of a wonderful teenage son, Independant Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, judicial secretary for the Michigan Supreme Court, copy-editor for African American on Wheels and an avid reader. I read everything. There is not a genre that I do not read. I am active in my church and am a member of the greeters ministry. I am member of Page Turners book club and have been known to give them the blues because I read so much. My other passions are movies and music, especially "old school" (my era). It is hard to pick a novel that I haven't read. I hope my reviews give you a opportunity to get insight on a book before you purchase it.

Connie Quarles:

Is a 42 year old Single parent who lives in Ohio. She has a teenage son and daughter who keeps her extremely busy. Connie is the Fair Housing Officer for her local government. Connie is a Christian who works with the youth in her church. She also volunteers as her church's secretary and as a regional coordinator for the Underground Railroad.

Reading is her favorite hobby. She enjoys African American romance novels because they are easy to read in a few days and the plots are pretty good even the ones that are predictable. Having a secret desire to one day write a novel, reading and reviewing romance books is like a dream come true.

Brenda Turner:

Has been reading since she was a very young girl enjoying books of all types. She attend Vashon High School and Forest Park Community College majoring in Business Management.
Her very first Black romance was a Harlequin. Since, she has read African-American books published by BET, Genesis Press, Walk Worthy, Self published and many more. Some of her favorite authors are Rochelle Alers, Francis Ray, Brenda Jackson, Beverly Jenkins and Evelyn Palfrey.
Cheryl Walton-LeCompte:

Group Founder of 4 The Love Of Books' Book Club. I have been blessed with a passion for reading and literature since my childhood. Growing up in a family where my Parents promoted Education, Values, Christian Beliefs and Reading, it was difficult not to become a lover of the written word. This passion and excitement for reading has stemmed into the book club (4 The Love Of Books) that was founded in October 2000. Our membership has grown from five to fifteen since its existence. Our Mission is to encourage and stimulate an interest in reading and literacy that will enhance our understanding and formulate new ideas.
I am married to my college sweetheart. My hobbies include: Reading, Traveling, Collecting porcelain angels and Photography.

Shaun Williams:
I'm a mother of three beautiful children 2 boys and a baby girl. Married to a loving husband for 9 years. I work in the world of finance as a customer service representative/mentor. I avid reader of AA fiction, mainstream, law, mystery, and especially of AA romance. To unwind after a hard day, I pick up a steamy romance book or listen to one of my favorite CD's. I'm an entrepreneur in the party favor business, and an aspiring author.
